Shannon,

Drupal is a great solution but can border on the technical side. There are lots of resources to keep some of the technical updating more manageable.

Having a great developer that can hold your hand through the scary stuff is invaluable.

If you aren't getting the support from them perhaps it is time to look elsewhere or troll through the Drupal support forums and I'm sure you can find someone who can help you out.

We at E-Cubed.com can also assist if you want to look our way.

I wish I had understood the complexities of my CMS driven site better especially how hard it can be to stay on top of the technical side. Drupla is a powerful tool but our solution takes up too much of my time and I need to rely on our developer far too regularly for technical updating.

Your quote about cost is very applicable in my situation. Our old solution was more cost effective when I factor in my technical costs and down time.
